I want to shred some curtains. 09/10/02

My claws have grown long. It takes about 6 months to grow them out, then one will break off at the fingertip and I'll have to cut them all short to match and start growing them out again. I think I'll paint them purple.

Right now I'm at work putting off a complex job until tomorrow. Removing a person from a group photo, adding more of the curtains to make it look like an even background... frustrating.

Last weekend was pure relaxation – spent mostly at the house lazing about watching movies, watering the plants, reading lots, eating pastries and shrimp pasta. We were downtown briefly on Saturday, drinking coffee with friends, exploring the thrift stores. Found a little plaid skirt and some fabric to make a tunic. Need to do some sewing soon, hopefully before this upcoming weekend which is the last war event of the season.

Ducal prize tourney was 2 weekends ago. Not the most interesting Ducal I've been to. The weather was uncomfortably hot and we spent most of the 3-day weekend sitting outside the tent sweating, brushing away flies, reading our books, waiting for something to happen out on the Eric. Only a couple fighting events this time, and no races. The auctions weren't offering much of interest to us to bid on, and I didn't find any great bargains at the rummage sale. None of our friends from our area were there to hang out with, but once the sun had set we had a good time listening to the bardic competitions and at the casbah. I danced! And didn't do too badly. Not at my best that night, but I did manage to do some of the more complicated moves in my repertoire.
