BLT Appetizer



1 narrow baguette loaf of sourdough bread, thinly cut into 20-25 slices
2 Tbsp. Sriracha hot sauce
1 cup mayonnaise
1 2 oz. package pre-cooked bacon, crumbled
1 large bunch fresh basil leaves
4 or 5 Roma tomatoes, cut into about 20-25 round slices



Combine sriracha, mayonnaise, and crumbled bacon in a bowl. Spread mixture onto one side of each of the bread slices. Place 2 large or 3-4 small basil leaves on top, then one slice of tomato.

Serve with beer or cocktails such as the Green Flash.


Options: The bread can be brushed with olive oil and lightly toasted in the manner of bruschetta. Fresh spinach leaves or chopped romaine lettuce are a decent substitution for the basil, but the BLTs will not be as spicy. A sundried tomato spread or tapenade can be used instead of fresh tomatoes.
